Day Trip Details

We will pick you up from your hotel in Djerba at the designated time to begin this day trip to the south of Tunisia.

We will drive for 2 hours along the old Roman road towards Tataouine, making a brief stop at the Chahbania Salt Lake to admire its beauty and vibrant colors.

In Tataouine, we will spend 1 to 2 hours exploring its history linked to a former French penal colony. This includes a visit to the local market and traditional constructions that served as community granaries.

Next, we will head to Chenini, a village on a mountain slope. After a 20-minute drive, we will see troglodyte houses and visit an old mosque revealing the area's historic depth.

After exploring Chenini for an hour, we will take a break at a restaurant to enjoy authentic local dishes, including Tunisian pastries and couscous. After lunch, we will visit the narrow streets and learn about Berber culture at Ksar Ouled Soltan, a preserved fortified granary.

On our way back to Djerba, we will stop for 30 minutes at Ksar Hadada, a notable Star Wars filming location.

After 8 hours, we will conclude the trip at your hotel.
