Day Trip Details

At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Djerba to begin this day trip to southern Tunisia.

We'll drive for 2 hours along the old Roman road towards Tataouine, making a brief stop at the Chahbania Salt Lake, known for its picturesque views.

Upon reaching Tataouine, we will spend 1 to 2 hours exploring its history, including a visit to the local market and the traditional constructions that served as community granaries.

Next, we will head to Chenini, a village on a mountain slope. After a 20-minute drive, we will see troglodyte houses and visit an old mosque that reflects the area's ancient history.

After exploring Chenini for an hour, we will have a break in a restaurant to taste local cuisine, including Tunisian pastries and couscous. Following lunch, we will continue to explore the village and learn about Berber culture at Ksar Ouled Soltan, a well-preserved granary.

On our return to Djerba, we will make a final 30-minute stop at Ksar Hadada, a notable filming location for Star Wars.

After a total of 8 hours, we will conclude the trip at your hotel.
