On this excursion from Douala, we'll tour the Pongo-Songo nature reserve by boat, where we'll spend a day with chimpanzees on the banks of the Sanaga River.

Chimpanzee Tour in Cameroon

At 8 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Douala and travel west to Marienberg. There, we'll board a boat to Pongo Island, home to the Pongo-Songo Reserve. Our main focus will be the local chimpanzees.

The boat will sail along the Sanaga River to the reserve, where the Papaye France association works to protect the region's chimpanzees, which are among the most endangered animals in the area. During the visit, we will learn about the conservation efforts in place at Pongo-Songo.

We'll also tour the reserve's infirmary to see how the chimpanzees are cared for, including viewing baby chimpanzees. Following this learning experience, we will enjoy a picnic lunch.

After lunch, we'll return to the boat for the trip back to the departure dock. The excursion to the Pongo-Songo Reserve will conclude at 5 pm, with drop-off at your hotel.
