Soak up the essence of Cameroon on this day trip to Limbe. Discover this seaside city as you stroll around its botanical garden and see the remains of a volcanic eruption.

Day Trip Details

At 7:30 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Douala and set off west toward Limbe, on the volcanic coast of Cameroon.

After 2 hours of traveling, we'll reach this seaside city surrounded by large palm trees and rubber plantations. We'll explore the huts of the workers and descendants of former slaves who lived in the town in the past.

To learn about the city's history, we'll visit the Bimbia Slave Trade Site, a monument commemorating the slave tribes of Cameroon. We'll continue by visiting the botanical garden, created by Germans, home to over 1500 species of plants and trees. It is one of the three most important botanical gardens in the world.

We'll also see the remains of the last eruption of Mount Cameroon, strolling among the vegetation and admiring the volcanic lava flow left by the 1999 eruption.

We will stop at a local restaurant for lunch. Lastly, we'll visit the beaches of Limbe before returning to Douala.

The day trip will end at your hotel at approximately 3:30 pm.
