Do you want to visit one of the largest castles in England? With this ticket to Dover Castle, you'll learn all about this medieval fortress, including its role in World War II.
Description
Situated at the narrowest point of the English Channel, Dover Castle is one of the largest and most strategically important strongholds in the United Kingdom, known as the 'Lock and Key of England'. On your visit, the medieval exhibition will take you back to the time of King Henry II, exploring its significance from the 12th century. Inside, you can see reconstructions of various rooms, including private chambers, guest rooms, the great halls, the armory, and the kitchen. The castle offers views of the Strait of Dover and Dover itself.
You will also have access to the medieval underground tunnels built into the cliffs of Dover, which were significant during World War II. This is where the Miracle of Dunkirk occurred in the 1940s.
