Blarney Castle, Rock of Cashel & Cahir Castle Day Trip
On the morning of the excursion, we'll meet up in Dublin before setting off to the south. We will pass through The Curragh, an open plain full of history and mystery, used for horse training. Additionally, we'll glimpse the Galtee Mountains.
After a drive of around 3 hours, we'll arrive at the Rock of Cashel, one of the Seven Wonders of Ireland. This historic site is home to structures dating back to the 12th century, including the High Cross, Romanesque Chapel, Gothic Cathedral, and the Round Tower, along with lush grounds filled with standing crosses.
Next, we will visit Blarney Castle, known for the Blarney Stone. Kissing this stone is said to grant the "gift of the gab." Participants will have time to explore the castle ruins and its grounds, which include gardens and woodland.
Our last stop will be Cahir Castle in County Tipperary, situated on a rocky island in the River Suir. This well-preserved castle retains much of its 13th-century structure. Here, attendees can take a guided tour to learn about its history.
During the trip, you'll see views of two mountain ranges, including the Knockmealdown Mountains. We will return to Dublin, dropping off participants at 7 pm at Dame Street in the city centre.
