La Ferrería & El Pueblito Excursion
Commencing from your accommodation, we invite you to join us on a day filled with exploration of some of the most breathtaking locations in Durango State.
Our first destination is the La Ferrería archaeological site, where you'll gain insights into the lifestyles of the ancient Nahua and Tepehuano tribes, as well as later sedentary populations. Discover fascinating features like a ball court, traditional dwellings, terraced structures, and petroglyphs that illustrate the settlement's rich history.
Next, we will tour the La Ferrería de Flores hacienda, established in 1855. Here, you'll delve into the historical significance of the mining sector in the region as we wander through the formerly bustling stables, now beautifully restored into lush gardens. The view of the Tunal River canyon from this site will undoubtedly take your breath away.
Following this, our journey continues to the El Pueblito Ecological Park, a splendid space brimming with open greenery, volleyball courts, zip lines, and hanging bridges. Take a moment to relax and enjoy your lunch, and we suggest trying the local delicacies such as elotes (corn on the cob) and carnitas (pulled pork). A visit to the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe is also highly recommended.
After a day filled with adventures throughout Durango State, we'll begin our return journey, aiming to have you back at your hotel approximately 8 hours later.
