Mapimí & Ojuela Day Trip
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Durango and set off for Mapimí, which is one of Mexico's Magic Towns. Upon arrival, you will have 1 hour of free time to have breakfast.
We will then visit the Benito Juárez Museum, which was the home of the "Benemérito de las Américas" during the itinerant Republic period. Inside, we will see his room, documents, utensils, and paintings of the indigenous politician.
On our way out, we will pass by the house where revolutionary priest Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla stayed and visit the Church of Santiago Apóstol, an 18th-century building with Baroque and Mudejar details.
Afterwards, we will drive a few minutes to the abandoned village of Ojuela and cross the suspension bridge used to transport minerals from the Santa Rita mine, discovered in 1598 and flooded in the mid-20th century. A guided tour will provide historical insights about this area.
At the end of the tour, you will have 1 hour of free time for lunch before we return to Durango, with an estimated arrival time at your hotel 12 hours later.
