Explore Mesa Verde National Park, Colorado's only UNESCO site. Discover ancient Puebloan cliff dwellings and enjoy a guided tour through history!
Day Trip Details
Mesa Verde National Park spans over 207 sq km (80 sq mi) and protects over 5,000 archeological sites. It is the only UNESCO World Heritage Site in Colorado, featuring the largest cliff dwelling in North America.
When booking, choose from two tour options: one focusing on the cliff dwellings and the other exploring the park's key features. The Cliff Palace tour has limited ticket availability for a unique experience.
Both options start and finish at a central meeting point in Durango, include transport to Mesa Verde National Park, admission to sites, and a guided experience.
Cliff Palace Tour (5 hours)
This tour focuses on the cliff dwellings. After a 1-hour drive, we'll reach the Mesa Verde National Park Visitors Center. The main destination is Cliff Palace, a dwelling dating back to 1260 CE. This tour includes tickets to Cliff Palace and a guided tour by an expert ranger. The exploration of cliff dwellings also allows time to visit other park highlights, including the Mesa Top Loop.
Mesa Verde Complete Tour (6 hours)
This comprehensive tour explores the lives of the Ancestral Puebloans. It includes visits to Park Point for views of the Four Corners, the Far View Village complex, and the Spruce Canyon Tree House. A driving tour on the Mesa Top Loop showcases major cliff dwellings, including Cliff Palace, but does not include tickets to Cliff Palace. After the tour, return to Durango.
