Mexiquillo Natural Park Day Trip

We'll pick you up from your hotel in Durango and set off for the Mexiquillo Natural Park.

After a 2-hour drive, we will arrive at our destination and approach a lake surrounded by coniferous forests and pine trees. We will then walk to the Stone Garden, an area with petrified lava rock formations shaped by wind erosion.

Next, we will visit the Mexiquillo waterfall, standing at 65 feet (20 meters) over the La Ciudad River.

Afterwards, we will explore the tunnels of an unfinished railway project, integrated with the park's nature. These tunnels reach 20 feet (6 meters) high and 328 feet (100 meters) long, with some extending nearly 1 mile.

Our final stop will be a viewpoint offering views of Durango state's green lung. Look out for cliff chipmunks that inhabit the area.

Finally, we will leave the natural park and return to your hotel in Durango, completing the trip approximately 7 hours after departure.
