Mexiquillo Natural Park Day Trip

We’ll pick you up from your hotel in Durango and drive for approximately 2 hours to Mexiquillo Natural Park.

Upon arrival, we will visit a picturesque lake surrounded by coniferous forests and pine trees. Next, we will walk to the Stone Garden, featuring petrified lava rock formations shaped by wine erosion.

We will then see the Mexiquillo waterfall, which stands at 65 feet (20 meters) over the La Ciudad River.

After this, we’ll explore the tunnels of an unfinished railway project, which integrate with the natural surroundings. These tunnels reach heights of 20 feet (6 meters) and lengths of 328 feet (100 meters), with some extending nearly 1 mile.

Our final stop will be a viewpoint offering exceptional views of Durango state's green lung. Be alert for the local cliff chipmunks.

We will then return to your hotel in Durango, completing the trip in approximately 7 hours.
