Mexiquillo Natural Park Day Trip

Transportation will commence with a pickup from your hotel in Durango, followed by a 2-hour drive to Mexiquillo Natural Park.

Upon arrival, we will visit a lake encircled by coniferous forests and pine trees. A walk will then take us to the Stone Garden, characterized by petrified lava rock formations sculpted by wind erosion.

Next, we will explore the Mexiquillo waterfall, which has a height of 65 feet (20 meters) over the La Ciudad River.

We will also enter the tunnels of an unfinished railway project that have integrated into the park’s natural landscape. These tunnels reach a height of 20 feet (6 meters) and measure 328 feet (100 meters) in length, with some extending nearly 1 mile.

Our trip will include a visit to a viewpoint offering exceptional views of Durango state's green lung, where cliff chipmunks can often be observed.

The tour will conclude with our return to your hotel in Durango, approximately 7 hours after departure.
