Description
We will meet at Veliera Square to start our free tour of Durres. The tour begins at the Byzantine Forum, the site of the ancient city of Dyrrhachium. Next, we will visit the majestic Amphitheatre of Durres.
We will explore outside the Durres Archaeological Museum, learning about the region's history. After that, we'll proceed to the Alexander Moisiu Cultural Centre, focused on contemporary Albanian art and culture.
Our next stop is the Top Hane Well, followed by the Santa Lucia Catholic Church, the city's oldest church. We will also view The Beauty of Durrës, a 4th-century BC masterpiece.
Continuing the tour, we will visit the Byzantine walls, the Roman Baths, and the Venetian Tower. Next, we will see the Fatih Mosque and the Residence of King Zog I, highlighting the region's royal history.
The tour concludes at the seafront promenade, allowing us to enjoy coastal views. After 2.5 hours, we will end the free tour and bid farewell.
