Description
Participants will meet at the specified time in front of Durres City Hall to commence the free tour of Durres. The journey begins at the Byzantine Forum, the historical center of the ancient city of Dyrrhachium or Dyrrah. Next, attendees will visit the magnificent Amphitheatre of Durres.
The tour continues outside the Durres Archaeological Museum, highlighting significant artifacts from the area’s history. Following this, the group will visit the Alexander Moisiu Cultural Centre, which focuses on contemporary Albanian art.
Next on the itinerary is the Top Hane Well, an architectural feature resembling a well. Nearby is the Santa Lucia Catholic Church, the city’s oldest church. The tour will also showcase The Beauty of Durrës, a monumental piece from the 4th century BC.
Further exploration includes the Byzantine walls, the Roman Baths, and the Venetian Tower. The itinerary also includes visits to the Fatih Mosque and the Residence of King Zog I.
