Join us on this tour of Écija's churches and discover its ecclesiastical heritage.

Tour Details

Écija once had 14 churches and 18 convents. We will meet at the Plaza de Santiago to start the tour exploring the religious significance of this Sevillian town.

First, we will visit the Church of Santiago, which showcases the Gothic-Mudéjar style. We will explore its impressive facade and the altarpiece, significant within the Archdiocese of Seville.

Next, we will head to Plaza de España, featuring remnants of an ancient episcopal building, then view the Church of Santa Barbara, built over a Roman temple.

Our next stop is the Church of Santa Maria. Its bell tower resembles Seville's Giralda. We will explore its history and archaeological artifacts in the courtyard.

We will then visit the Church of Los Descalzos, noted for its Baroque style. Despite its simple exterior, the interior is remarkable.

Finally, we will pass the Convent of Las Marroquíes and the Santa Cruz Parish Church, viewing the Church of San Pablo and Church of Santo Domingo before returning to the starting point.

After 2.5 hours, we will conclude our guided tour of Écija's churches.
