Join us on this tour of Écija's churches and discover its rich ecclesiastical heritage.

Tour Details

Écija once had 14 churches and 18 convents. We will meet at the Plaza de Santiago at the designated time to start our exploration of the religious sites in this Sevillian town.

We will first visit the Church of Santiago, which preserves the Gothic-Mudéjar style. Here, we will admire its facade and altarpiece, significant in the Archdiocese of Seville.

Next, we will head to Plaza de España, where the remains of a primitive episcopal building were discovered, and see the exterior of the Church of Santa Barbara, built over a Roman temple.

Our next stop is the Church of Santa Maria. The bell tower resembles the Giralda in Seville. We will explore its history and view archeological pieces in the courtyard.

We will proceed to the Church of Los Descalzos, noted for its Baroque style. The interior is particularly impressive.

To complete the tour, we will pass by the Convent of Las Marroquíes and visit the Santa Cruz Parish Church. Finally, we will view the Church of San Pablo and Church of Santo Domingo before returning to our starting point.

After 2.5 hours, we will conclude our guided tour of Écija's churches.
