Description

Day 1

We’ll leave Edinburgh after meeting on High Street to start this highland adventure. Enjoy views of the Forth Bridge as we reach the Highlands. Our first stop is the village of Dunkeld, known for its cathedral by the River Tay. We’ll continue north into the Great Glen, a 62-mile (100 km) valley. Next, we’ll visit Fort Augustus to explore the shores of Loch Ness and search for Nessie, the Loch Ness monster. We will then admire Eilean Donan Castle before heading to the Isle of Skye, where we will spend the night in Portree.

Day 2

We will spend the day exploring the Isle of Skye, learning about its myths and legends, including Bonnie Prince Charlie’s escape. We will see the Old Man of Storr, Kilt Rock with its waterfall, and Dunvegan Castle. The night will be spent in Portree.

Day 3

On the final day, we will explore more of Skye before taking the ferry to Mallaig. Enjoy views from the coach, including the Glenfinnan Viaduct. We will visit the Dundreggan Rewilding Centre, then head south through Glencoe and Rannoch Moor, arriving back in Edinburgh around 8:30 pm at Waterloo Place.

Itinerary changes

During Winter (mid-October to mid-April), the itinerary changes, and Dunvegan Castle is only visited in summer. In Winter, we will see the Skye Bridge and Commando Memorial.

Accommodation

All packages include Bed and Breakfast, with accommodations based in Portree. Breakfast is included, but no other meals are provided.

Please Note

Some castles are open from April to October, with alternatives during the off-season.Dunvegan Castle and Eilean Donan Castle are optional extras, payable on the day.From 20th May - 6th June 2024, the Harry Potter train won’t run, and we will travel by bus instead.
