Tour Description

The tour group meets at the Royal Mile, outside St. Giles's Cathedral, proceeding to the castle to enjoy views of the city. After collecting tickets, participants will explore the castle's main buildings, 3 museums of the citadel, and war prisons.

Inside the palace, the vault holds the Honours of Scotland and the Stone of Destiny, used for crowning kings during the Middle Ages.

The guided tour lasts 1.5 hours and concludes near the castle.

Ticket to Edinburgh Castle

If booking a tour without a ticket, participants must acquire their own, ensuring it is valid for the date and time of the tour. Advance purchase is recommended, particularly in peak season. This option is not for those only wishing to view the outside, as external tours are brief. Attendees without a ticket cannot join the tour.

The option without tickets is only for those with existing tickets or an Explorer Pass. All others must choose the ticketed option.
