Old Town Tour

The Edinburgh Old Town Private Tour takes us through the fascinating history of this ancient city, which boasts over 3,000 years of existence. Journey back to the time of its initial inhabitants, from various tribal groups, to the Picts and later the Highlanders, known for their iconic kilts that symbolize the city. Significant landmarks await us, including St. Giles Cathedral and the City Chambers. As we meander through the picturesque streets like the Royal Mile, Chambers Street, and Victoria Street, you might recognize that Victoria Street inspired Diagon Alley for J.K. Rowling's cherished Harry Potter series.

During our journey, we'll also pay homage to the Greyfriars Bobby statue, which honors the beloved dog renowned for his loyalty, and explore the nearby Greyfriars Cemetery, a site rich in paranormal lore. This cemetery is rumored to have influenced J.K. Rowling's writing as well, with names like McGonagall, Moodie, and Riddell potentially sparking some memories. Other essential sights include the Grassmarket, the National Museum of Scotland, Saint Giles' Cathedral, the Heart of Midlothian, and the Mercat Cross.

Ghost Tour

Join us in uncovering the eerie and at times unsettling history of Edinburgh. Beneath its beauty lies a past filled with illness, crime, and more.

We'll delve into how the Black Death ravaged the city, claiming countless lives. Struggling to comprehend this dreadful plague, some doctors resorted to peculiar methods, including wearing robes and masks resembling birds... One stop will take us to a location known for its black market trade of corpses.

As part of this tour, we will also visit a central cemetery, where tales of the city’s notorious serial killers, William Burke and William Hare, unfold.

Next, we ascend Calton Hill, a historical site associated with witch hunts and burnings. Gruesome tales reveal the tragic fates of many individuals accused of witchcraft. This renowned hill showcases various historic edifices and monuments, including the observatory, the Nelson Memorial, and the Scottish National Monument, which are collectively referred to as 'Edinburgh’s Disgrace'.

Castle Tour

Edinburgh Castle stands proudly as a symbol of the city. Remarkably, this fortress is perched atop an extinct volcano formed 70 million years ago. Over the years, it has served as the residence for numerous monarchs and has endured 26 sieges, making it the most besieged castle in the United Kingdom!

During the castle tour, we will visit the royal palace, known as the birthplace of James Stuart, the king who unified the Scottish and English crowns. Marvel at the Scottish crown jewels, the oldest in Europe, and learn about the Stone of Destiny, also known as the Stone of Scone, historically used in coronations. We will discuss the castle's museums and its former prisons, where banknotes were illicitly produced in the 19th century.
