Petra and Wadi Rum 2-Day Tour from Eilat

Itinerary

Day 1: Eilat - Aqaba - Wadi Rum

We will convene at the designated meeting location in Eilat and embark on a bus journey that takes us across the border into Jordan, arriving in Aqaba. The quaint streets of the city will capture our attention, alongside its remarkable grand mosque, notable for its striking white facade.

Our exploration of Aqaba features a visit to a 16th-century Ottoman fortress, which provides panoramic views across the borders of Israel, Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia. Afterward, you will have some leisure time for lunch before we continue to Wadi Rum. Are you prepared for an exciting desert safari?

A thrilling 4x4 tour of Wadi Rum will reveal the breathtaking vistas of the Valley of the Moon. As we traverse its sprawling plains and striking mountain formations, you will understand why this area served as a prominent filming location for the Star Wars series. It will feel as though you have transported to another world!

The day concludes with our arrival at the camp where we will spend the night, enjoying a desert sunset and recharging with dinner.

Day 2: Wadi Rum - Petra - Eilat

On the second day, the adventure continues as we head toward Petra, a journey of approximately two hours from Wadi Rum. If desired, you can purchase a picnic for breakfast during the ride.

The guided exploration of Petra will immerse you in the rich history of this ancient marvel. Commonly referred to as the Rose City, its stunning temples and tombs are artfully carved from the reddish cliffs, lending to its name.

You will learn about the Nabataeans, their cultural practices, and the profound influence they had, discussing their interactions with the Roman Empire. Knowledge will abound during our visit!

As we uncover the mysteries of Petra, you will encounter some of its most iconic structures, including the Tomb of the Obelisks, the Theatre, and the Treasury. We will also allocate two hours of free time for you to further explore the site at your own pace.

A lunch break is included before we conclude our day with a drive back to Israel, which will take around two and a half hours. We anticipate returning to our departure point in Eilat by 19:30.

Accommodation

Your stay includes one night at Magic Rum Camp, where you can select between standard double rooms or an upgraded option that features a unique double room resembling a space tent. All accommodations offer en-suite bathrooms and wifi access. If the preferred options are unavailable, similar accommodations in keeping with the standard and superior categories will be provided.
