Fancy going on a boat ride around the Upsala Glacier and taking a hike through the Cañadón de los Fósiles? Enjoy a complete day trip to Estancia Cristina.

Estancia Cristina Hike & Boat Tour

We'll start the tour by picking you up from your hotel at the scheduled time and heading towards Estancia Cristina, where a day packed with nature awaits us.

We'll arrive at the Punta Bandera quay after around an hour's drive, where we'll hop on a boat that will take us to Estancia Cristina. Cruising along the Upsala channel, we'll admire the enormous ice wall of the Upsala Glacier during this 2.5-hour boat ride.

Upon arrival at Estancia Cristina, you'll board an offroading vehicle driven by your guide and head to a viewpoint for views of the glacier and the Southern Patagonian Ice Field.

Next, we'll embark on a 14-kilometre hike through the Cañadón de los Fósiles, known for million-year-old fossils. Your guide will highlight important specimens.

During the hike, we'll take a short break for lunch, consisting of two sandwiches, a biscuit, fruit, and water. We will continue hiking until we reach Estancia Cristina at 5:30 pm.

We'll then sail back to Punta Bandera, where the vehicle will take us back to El Calafate, arriving at the hotels after approximately 12.5 hours.

Tour without Transfers

If you prefer to travel to Estancia Cristina independently, you can book without transfers. You will need to meet your guide at the pier at Estancia, located at Punta Bandera, at 8:15 am. The boat will return you to the quay at 7 pm.
