Estancia Cristina Hike & Boat Tour

The tour begins with a hotel pickup followed by a drive to Estancia Cristina. After approximately one hour, we arrive at the Punta Bandera quay to board a boat for a two and a half-hour cruise along the Upsala channel, with views of the Upsala Glacier.

Upon arrival at Estancia Cristina, you'll board a 4x4 jeep driven by your guide to reach a viewpoint for views of the glacier and the Southern Patagonian Ice Field.

Next, we will embark on a 14-kilometre hike through the Cañadón de los Fósiles, where your guide will highlight significant million-year-old fossils. A break for lunch occurs halfway through the hike, consisting of two sandwiches, a biscuit, fruit, and water. We will continue the hike and reach Estancia Cristina by 5:30 pm.

Afterward, we'll return by boat to Punta Bandera, arriving back at your hotel in El Calafate after approximately 12.5 hours.

Tour without transfers

If you prefer to travel to Estancia Cristina independently, you can book the tour without transfers. In this case, you need to meet your guide at the quay at Estancia, located at Punta Bandera, at 8:15 am. On the return journey, the boat will take you back to the quay by 7 pm.
