Estancia Cristina & Upsala Glacier Cruise

After hotel pickups at the scheduled time, the tour begins with an hour's drive to the quay at Punta Bandera.

Board a boat and sail to Estancia Cristina, cruising down the Upsala channel for a 2.5-hour boat trip toward the glacier. Upon disembarking, a medium-difficulty hike will commence.

Guided hiking through a Patagonian forest allows for the observation of Antarctic beech trees and endemic bird species. The hike ascends to a viewpoint for a panoramic view of Lake Argentino.

During the tour, a break at a local restaurant will provide lunch, including two empanadas, a main course choice (lamb casserole or pasta with pesto), flan for dessert, and a beverage (wine or soft drink) and coffee or tea. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available.

The hike continues uphill to Perros waterfall, providing views of the Caterina River valley. Visitors will also explore the estancia's museum, chapel, and water mill.

A boat will return to the port of Punta Bandera, where a minibus will transport participants back to El Calafate, arriving at the hotels after approximately 12.5 hours.

For those wanting to travel to Estancia Cristina independently, bookings are available without transfers. Meet your guide at the pier at Punta Bandera at 8:15 am. The return boat will drop you off at the quay at 7 pm.
