Marvel at the icebergs of Los Glaciares National Park on this excursion from El Calafate. You'll also enjoy a pleasant boat ride through this great natural space.
Description
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in El Calafate and take National Route 11. This road runs parallel to Lake Argentino, providing views of the largest lagoon in Patagonia.
After a 40-minute drive, we'll arrive at the pier of Puerto Bandera for a memorable boat ride to see the glaciers. The journey begins in the northern arm of Lake Argentino, crossing the Boca del Diablo (Devil's Mouth). During the ride, we'll observe a large group of icebergs with their striking bluish tones.
Next, we will head to the great ice barrier to view the detachments of the Upsala Glacier, the largest in the park. The route includes passing by the Heim, Peineta, Seco, and Spegazzini Glacier, the highest of them all. We'll dock near the Spegazzini Glacier for a brief low-intensity hike next to Glacier Bay.
The trail leads us to the Spegazzini Refuge, where lunch is available on your own. After regrouping, we will return by boat to the pier of Puerto Bandera and then back to your hotel in El Calafate, completing approximately 10 hours of the excursion.
