Walking across an ice field is a unique experience. Join us on our Perito Moreno Glacier Hike & Boat Trip for an unforgettable day in Los Glaciares National Park.
Hike & Boat Trip Details
At the scheduled time, we will pick you up from your hotel in El Calafate. We will set off westbound along National Route 11, arriving at the Bajo las Sombras port after a 1-hour journey. From here, we will embark on a boat trip through Los Glaciares National Park.
We will spend 20 minutes sailing through the southern part of Lake Argentino in Brazo Rico, before disembarking at the shore. Afterward, we will put on our crampons and start our 4-hour hike on the south face of the Perito Moreno Glacier, where we will see blue lagoons, deep crevasses, and sinkholes.
During the hike, we will have several stops to admire the Dos Picos, Pietrobelli, and Cervantes mountains. You will also have 30 minutes of free time to relax in the snow, so please bring a packed lunch.
After lunch, we will embark on a 1-hour hike to the shore of Lake Argentino. Once we arrive, we will sail just over 4 miles (7 km) to the footbridges of the Perito Moreno Glacier.
After visiting the glacier, we will sail back to Bajo Las Sombras port and return to your hotel in El Calafate. We should arrive back after 12 hours.
