Experiencing a trek across a glacial landscape is an unforgettable adventure. Join us for a day filled with exploration on the pristine Perito Moreno Glacier in Los Glaciares National Park.

Hike & Boat Trip Overview

Your journey begins with a pickup from your accommodation in El Calafate. We will travel west along National Route 11 for about an hour until we reach the Bajo las Sombras port. Here, our boating adventure through Los Glaciares National Park will commence.

We'll spend approximately 20 minutes navigating the southern section of Lake Argentino, particularly near Brazo Rico, before reaching the opposite shore. Once we dock, you'll have the opportunity to equip yourself with crampons as we set off on a 4-hour hike on the south face of the Perito Moreno Glacier. During this hike, you will encounter stunning blue lagoons, striking crevasses, and notable sinkholes.

As we hike, we'll pause at various viewpoints, allowing you to take in the dramatic landscapes featuring the Dos Picos, Pietrobelli, and Cervantes mountains. There will also be a 30-minute break for you to unwind on the sparkling snow – just remember to bring your packed lunch!

Following lunch, the next leg includes a short 1-hour hike to the shores of Lake Argentino. Upon our arrival there, we'll traverse the space between the glaciers as we sail over 4 miles (7 km) to the footbridges of the Perito Moreno.

After encountering Argentina's most iconic glacier, we will return via boat to the Bajo Las Sombras port, concluding our day and heading back to your hotel in El Calafate. The entire experience will last around 12 hours.

The trip includes hotel pickup from locations in central El Calafate. If you prefer, we can also arrange to meet at 31, 7 de Diciembre Street.
