Walking across an ice field is a unique experience that you'll never forget. Join us on our Perito Moreno Glacier Hike & Boat Trip for an unforgettable day in the Los Glaciares National Park.
Hike & Boat Trip Details
We'll pick you up from your hotel in El Calafate and set off westbound along National Route 11. After a 1-hour journey, we'll arrive at Bajo las Sombras port. From here, we will go on a boat trip through Los Glaciares National Park.
We will spend 20 minutes sailing through the southern part of Lake Argentino in the area of Brazo Rico, before disembarking. Next, we will get kitted out in our crampons and start our 4-hour hike on the south face of the Perito Moreno Glacier, where we'll see blue lagoons, deep crevasses, and large sinkholes.
During our hike, we will make several stops divided into stages to admire the Dos Picos, Pietrobelli, and Cervantes mountains. You will also have 30 minutes of free time to relax on the snow - don't forget your packed lunch!
After lunch, we'll set off on another 1-hour hike to the shore of Lake Argentino. When we arrive, we'll sail just over 4 miles (7 km) to the footbridges of the Perito Moreno glacier.
After visiting the famous glacier, we'll sail back to Bajo Las Sombras port and return to your hotel in El Calafate, with an estimated return time of 12 hours.
