Cagliero Glacier Trek

At the scheduled time, pick-up will be arranged from your accommodation in El Chaltén as we head towards Los Huemules Reserve, approximately 10 miles (16 km) away.

Upon entering Los Glaciares National Park, we will embark on an unforgettable trek. The initial section takes us through a picturesque forest, offering spectacular views of the towering Fitz Roy mountain, which stands at over 11,000 feet. This part of the hike concludes at Laguna del Diablo (The Devil's Lagoon), where participants will be fitted with harnesses and helmets in preparation for the via Ferrata climb.

Upon reaching the steep mountain slopes, the effort will be worth it as we arrive at the Vivac Cagliero base camp. Here, we will don our crampons and set out on a two-hour hike across the stunning glacier.

After the exhilarating experience of walking on ice, the return journey will follow the same route back to Los Huemules, where you will have a chance to grab a bite to eat (meal not included). Finally, we will return you to your hotel in El Chaltén, completing a total journey of approximately 10 hours.
