Desert Lake Journey

At the arranged time, our team will collect you from your accommodation in El Chaltén. We will embark on a scenic drive lasting about one and a half hours, where you'll navigate winding mountain paths, lush forests, and the banks of the Río de las Vueltas river until we arrive at the charming Lago del Desierto (Desert Lake).

Upon arrival, we will proceed to the pier to board the boat for a 30-minute ride across the lake. While gliding on the calm waters, you'll have the chance to marvel at the spectacular Huemul and Crestón glaciers. This unique view will leave a lasting impression!

Next, we will explore the magnificent Vespignani Glacier, offering you free time to savor the stunning views of the icy formations. You will also catch sight of the imposing Mount Fitz Roy looming majestically in the background.

Afterward, we will take a brief rest with a comforting tea and cookies. Subsequently, our journey will continue across the Lago del Desierto, culminating back in El Chaltén after approximately 9 hours of captivating exploration.

Half-Day Option

For those with limited time, a half-day tour is available. This option will modify the itinerary, resulting in a reduced amount of leisure time at the Vespignani Glacier.

Pickup Details

When making your reservation, you may select to be collected from your hotel in El Chaltén or to arrive independently at the Punta Sur dock of Lago del Desierto. Note that pickup schedules differ based on whether you choose the full-day or half-day tour.

Half-day option with pickup: while there is no hotel collection, we will meet you at 11:00 am at Avenida San Martín, 55 (El Chaltén, Santa Cruz, Argentina).Full-day tour with pickup: our pickup at your hotel in central El Chaltén will occur between 7:30 and 8:00 am.

For those opting for the tour without pickup, please arrive at the Punta Sur dock of Lago del Desierto by 9:45 am for the full-day tour, or by 12:45 pm for the half-day tour.
