Description
Our adventure begins at the Alfonso X el Sabio Square, where we will gather at the arranged time to kick off our exploration of El Puerto de Santa María, a significant trading hub that once connected Spain with the New World.
Our journey starts with a visit to San Marcos Castle, a stunning fortress that, alongside the Virgin de los Milagros, symbolizes the city's heritage. Here, you'll be captivated by the eclectic architectural styles of this 12th-century edifice, originally built on the site of an ancient Arab mosque. We will also take in the grandeur of the Araníbar Palace from the outside, shedding light on why this town is celebrated as the city of a hundred palaces.
As we continue our stroll through the quaint streets, we will also visit other notable landmarks, including the Plaza de España, the exterior of the minor basilica Virgen de los Milagros, and the palace of the Marquesa de Candía.
Having explored the town’s most iconic sites, we will then head to a local bar to delve into the fascinating wine-making tradition and savor a delightful glass of wine, providing a perfect conclusion to our tour!
