We'll meet at Praça da Republica as the sun begins to set to start this tour of Elvas.

As the last rays illuminate the historic buildings of this fortified city in the Alentejo region, we'll walk through the impressive walls and bastions. Elvas boasts the largest collection of fortifications in the world, and we'll discuss their significance during the tour.

Afterward, we'll proceed to the Castle of Elvas, part of the city's fortified complex. We'll access its medieval tower for panoramic views enhanced by the sunset hues.

Next, we'll visit the Amoreira Aqueduct, constructed in the 16th century by King John III to supply water to the city. Following this, we will head to the military cistern built a century later, connected to the aqueduct via an underground tunnel.

We will observe its vaulted ceiling and share interesting facts about this site. The tour will conclude after a total of 2 hours in Praça 25 de Abril.
