Build an Igloo

Feel like a true Eskimo when you build your very own Igloo in the mountains of Andorra. This is the perfect adventure to have during your visit to Escaldes.

Build an Igloo

We will meet at 3 pm in the El Cubil car park at the Grau Roig ski resort. There, we will pick up all the material and tools needed for this igloo building activity before heading into the forests of the Moretó Valley.

On the way, we will learn how the Eskimos live and the features of these icy houses. We will then start to create a compacting or block igloo, depending on the snow density of the day. You will hear facts about how these igloos keep people warm, even in temperatures of -40º.

Shovels and saws are the only tools needed to build these constructions. Once the work is finished, we will enter the igloo to experience the difference in temperature from outside.

After an hour and a half of learning and building igloos, we will return to the original departure point where our experience concludes.
