Tour Details
Participants will meet at the entrance to the Fuocomuorto Winery, a family-run establishment situated minutes from the archaeological site of Herculaneum. The winery's vineyards are located within the Vesuvius National Park, positioned between the volcano's slopes and the Mediterranean Sea.
The visit will begin with a tour of the winery's terraced vineyards, where views of the Gulf of Naples can be enjoyed. Guests will learn about various grape varieties and the unique characteristics of the volcanic soil.
Subsequently, a natural cave within the winery will be explored. This cave, formed by volcanic lava following the 1780 eruption, will provide insights into the ageing of wines, the history of the winemaking family, and historical grape pressing tools.
The tour will conclude with a tasting of 3 wines: Vesuvio Lacryma Christi red, white, and an extra dry sparkling rosé. Guests will also enjoy a selection of local products, including a charcuterie and cheese board, homemade preserves, and Neapolitan sweets. The total duration of the tour is 2 hours.
