Tour Details

The Hacienda Villarta Winery is located on the outskirts of Escalona, near the Alberche River and the Serra de Gredos, about 1 hour from Madrid and 30 minutes from Toledo. The guided tour starts at the parking lot at the designated time.

The tour begins with a visit to the vineyards, highlighting the types of grapes grown in Toledo. This area is known for producing the famous Denominación de Origen Méntrida wines.

Next, we will explore the winery facilities, including the barrel room. You will learn about the elaboration and aging processes for red, white, and rosé wines. The wines mature for 20 months in nearly 3000 American and French oak barrels, rotated using a patented mechanical system. The winery also features stainless steel tanks with a capacity of 1320 gallons (500 hectolitres), equipped with filtration, decanting, and temperature control systems.

The 1.5-hour tour concludes in the tasting room with a tasting of 3 wines paired with traditional Iberian snacks. An enologist will assist you in identifying the aromas and flavors of each wine variety.
