Trevelin & Futaleufú Excursion
We'll depart from your hotel in Esquel at 2:30 pm. Half an hour later, we will arrive in Trevelin, a Patagonian town established in the late 19th century due to the arrival of Welsh settlers.
During the guided tour of Trevelin, we will learn about the history of these British immigrants, with their legacy present in the Regional Museum. The tour includes visits to chapels and Welsh-style homes in the area.
Next, we will continue to Los Alerces National Park, an extensive natural area bordering Chile to the west. Here, we'll walk along the shore of Amutui Quimey Lake, which provides resources for the Futaleufú Hydroelectric Complex, a significant dam regulating water flow.
After visiting the hydroelectric complex, we will return to Trevelin, where you will have an hour of leisure to enjoy a Welsh-style snack. Local cafés typically offer British menus including tea, pastries, toast with jam, and muffins.
Finally, we will return to your hotel in Esquel, arriving at 7:30 pm.
