Trevelin & Futaleufú Excursion
We'll depart from your hotel in Esquel at 2:30 pm. Half an hour later, we'll arrive in Trevelin, a Patagonian town developed by Welsh settlers in the 19th century.
During the guided tour of Trevelin, we'll explore the history of these immigrants at the Regional Museum, where we will learn about their way of life. We will also view chapels and Welsh-style homes in the area.
The excursion will continue to Los Alerces National Park, a large natural space bordering Chile to the west. Here, we'll walk along the shore of Amutui Quimey Lake, which supplies resources to the Futaleufú Hydroelectric Complex, a significant dam regulating water flow.
After visiting the hydroelectric complex, we'll return to Trevelin, where you'll have an hour at leisure to enjoy a Welsh-style snack. Local cafes typically offer British menus with tea, pastries, toast with jam, and muffins.
We will return to your hotel in Esquel, arriving at 7:30 pm.
