Trevelin & Futaleufú Excursion
We'll depart from your hotel in Esquel at 2:30 pm. Half an hour later, we'll arrive in Trevelin, a Patagonian town that developed in the second half of the 19th century due to the arrival of Welsh settlers.
During the guided tour of Trevelin, we'll learn about the history of these British immigrants. Their legacy is present in the Regional Museum, where we will learn about their way of life. We will also see chapels and Welsh-style homes built in the area.
We'll continue our excursion to Los Alerces National Park, an extensive natural space bordering Chile in the west. Here, we'll walk along the shore of Amutui Quimey Lake, which feeds into the Futaleufú Hydroelectric Complex, a dam regulating water flow.
After visiting the hydroelectric complex, we'll return to Trevelin for an hour at leisure to enjoy a Welsh-style snack. Local cafés typically offer British menus with tea, pastries, toast with jam, and muffins.
Finally, we'll return to your hotel in Esquel, with an expected arrival at 7:30 pm.
