Amazigh Market Tour + Argan Oil Cooperative Visit

On this tour of the Amazigh market in the Haha Region, to the south of Essaouira, we will explore rural Moroccan life and visit an argan oil cooperative.

Description

At the scheduled time, we will meet at 287 Rue Oued El Makhazine to start our journey to the Amazigh town of Ida Ogourd. This weekly market offers a glimpse into local life, where residents shop and interact in a familiar environment.

We will observe the rhythm of daily life rooted in tradition, including the presence of donkeys, a common sight with a dedicated 'Donkey Parking'. The market features stalls with fresh vegetables, exotic fruit, spices, and various services such as blacksmiths, welders, shoemakers, and barbers. To conclude our market experience, we will enjoy some tea while taking in the vibrant surroundings.

Before returning to Essaouira, we will visit an argan cooperative to learn about the production of argan oil, known as the Gold of Morocco. The tour will cover the extraction process by Amazigh women and include a tasting of the oil.

After 3.5 hours, we will conclude the tour and return to the starting point, having experienced the traditions of Amazigh life.
