Discover Amazigh cuisine by attending this Moroccan cooking class in a traditional village near Essaouira.
Class Details
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at 287 Rue Oued El Makhazine, next to the taxi rank. We will head towards Haha Hills in the Essaouira countryside, known for its argan trees and the possibility of seeing goats in the trees.
Upon arrival, we'll visit a souk to gather fresh ingredients. Our next stop will be a local house with an authentic Amazigh kitchen, where we will use traditional utensils to prepare various dishes.
Two local women will guide us in making Amazigh flatbread, from grinding barley to baking. We will also learn to prepare couscous in a clay pot and cook vegetable and goat meat tajin with olive oil and Moroccan spices.
Participants will enjoy the dishes prepared, with the opportunity to have lunch outdoors if the weather permits. Fresh herbal tea will also be served. Before returning to Essaouira, there will be a visit to an argan oil cooperative to learn about its production.
The tour concludes after 7 hours back at the meeting point.
