Discover Amazigh cuisine by attending this Moroccan cooking class in a traditional village near Essaouira.
Class Details
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at 287 Rue Oued El Makhazine, next to the taxi rank. We will head towards the Haha Hills in the Essaouira countryside, where we may see the famous goats in the trees.
Our first stop is a souk to gather fresh ingredients for our dishes. After obtaining the groceries, we will proceed to an authentic Amazigh kitchen equipped with traditional utensils. Two local women will guide us in preparing Amazigh flatbread by grinding barley and baking it. We will also learn to make couscous in a clay pot, alongside vegetable and goat meat tajin using olive oil and Moroccan spices.
You will have the opportunity to taste the dishes prepared, and if weather permits, we will enjoy lunch outdoors surrounded by nature. Following the meal, fresh herbal tea will be served.
Before returning to Essaouira, we will visit an argan oil cooperative to learn about the oil's production. After 7 hours, we will conclude the tour and return to the meeting point.
