Discover Amazigh cuisine by attending this Moroccan cooking class in a traditional village near Essaouira.
Class Details
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at 287 Rue Oued El Makhazine, next to the taxi rank. We'll head towards Haha Hills in the Essaouira countryside, known for its argan trees, where we may see goats in trees.
We will visit a souk to gather fresh ingredients for our dishes. Next, we will proceed to a local house featuring an authentic Amazigh kitchen with traditional utensils for cooking.
Two women will instruct us on making Amazigh flatbread, from grinding barley to baking. We will also learn to prepare couscous in a clay pot, and discover the vital ingredients used in vegetable and goat meat tajin with olive oil and Moroccan spices.
You will be able to taste the dishes you have prepared. If the weather permits, lunch will be outdoors surrounded by nature, followed by fresh herbal tea.
Before returning to Essaouira, there will be an opportunity to visit an argan oil cooperative to learn about its production.
After 7 hours, we will conclude the tour and say our goodbyes at the meeting point.
