Discover Amazigh cuisine by attending this Moroccan cooking class in a traditional village near Essaouira.
Description
We'll meet at Bab Sba, next to the taxi rank, ready to explore the exotic flavours of Morocco.
The journey will take us to the Haha Hills, known for its argan trees and potential sightings of goats in trees.
Upon arrival, we will visit a souk to gather fresh ingredients for our dishes. Afterwards, we will proceed to a local house with an authentic Amazigh kitchen, equipped for cooking.
Two local women will guide us in preparing Amazigh flatbread, from grinding barley to baking. We will also learn to cook couscous in a clay pot and vegetable and goat meat tajin using Moroccan spices.
Afterwards, you will taste the dishes prepared during the class. Weather permitting, we will have lunch outdoors and enjoy fresh herbal tea.
Before returning to Essaouira, we will visit an argan oil cooperative to learn about its production process.
The tour lasts 7 hours, concluding back at Bab Sba.
