If you're in Fajardo and you like roast pork, don't miss this excursion to Guavate, the most popular stop on Puerto Rico's famous Ruta del Lechón!
Guavate Excursion
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up in front of the CVS Pharmacy in Fajardo and head towards Caguas, located south of San Juan in the central mountain range of Puerto Rico.
We will make a brief stop at the Plaza del Centenario to learn about the history of the municipality. From there, we'll go to Charco Azul, a natural pool where you'll have about an hour of free time to take a dip.
Next, we will head to Guavate, a district in the municipality of Cayey, for a guided tour through its picturesque streets surrounded by lush vegetation. Guavate is known for its lechoneras, restaurants serving roast pork, making it a popular destination on the Puerto Rican Ruta del Lechón.
We recommend using your free time to sample the roast pork at a lechonera of your choice. Finally, we will reconvene in the center of Guavate to return to Fajardo, with arrival at the meeting point scheduled for 8-9 hours after pickup.
