If you're in Fajardo and you like roast pork, don't miss this excursion to Guavate, the most popular stop on Puerto Rico's famous Ruta del Lechón!
Guavate Excursion
At the indicated time, we will pick you up in front of the CVS Pharmacy in Fajardo and depart towards Caguas, located south of San Juan in the central mountain range of Puerto Rico.
Here, we'll make a brief stop at the Plaza del Centenario to learn about the history of the municipality. From there, we'll go to Charco Azul, a natural pool where you will have about an hour of free time to take a dip.
Then, we'll head to Guavate, a district in the municipality of Cayey, where we will go on a guided tour through its streets surrounded by lush vegetation.
Guavate is known for its lechoneras, restaurants that serve roast pork, a gastronomic highlight of the area. Guavate is the most popular destination on the Puerto Rican Ruta del Lechón, which is full of restaurants and kiosks offering this local dish.
You can't leave Guavate without trying the roast pork! We recommend using your free time to sample it on your own at a lechonera of your choice.
We will reconvene in the center of Guavate to return to Fajardo, where arrival at the meeting point is scheduled for 8-9 hours after pickup.
