This journey through the roots of Italian immigration in Caxias do Sul offers a unique opportunity to explore significant sites that reflect the cultural heritage brought by early settlers, including the Galópolis neighborhood and the homes of the Bonnet family.

Tour Overview

Your experience commences with a pickup from your accommodation in Caxias do Sul. From there, we embark on an exploration into the rich history of Italian immigrants who made their way to this vibrant city in Rio Grande do Sul.

The journey will delve into the arrival of immigrants from regions such as Lombardy, Veneto, and Tyrol during the second half of the 1700s. You'll discover how these pioneers established the first settlements in the area.

Your first stop will be the Galópolis neighborhood, where you will encounter charming English-style residences that speak to the area’s industrial and textile heritage. Continuing along the historic Rio Branco route, we will make our way to the Grutinha Winery. Here, you will have the opportunity to sample their exquisite wines, juices, and sparkling wines, crafted through generations of expertise.

Next, we will visit the notable Stone Church, a landmark among the oldest stone structures in Caxias, followed by a trip to the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes, renowned for its uplifting atmosphere. The tour then proceeds to the memorial and historic homes of the Bonnet Family, remarkable representations of colonial architectural style.

Our adventure will sweeten as we stop at a local agro-industry, where you can enjoy a variety of freshly produced treats, including cookies, confections, breads, panettones, and the regional favorite, German cucas. You'll also have a moment for personal time, should you choose to indulge in lunch at your leisure.

As our day concludes, we will return you to the initial meeting point, bidding farewell after an enriching 6-hour experience.
