3 Day Merzouga Desert Private Day Trip

This 3-day trip to Merzouga from Fez offers an authentic experience of the Moroccan Sahara Desert, focusing on its culture.

3-Day Tour Details

Day 1: Fez - Ifrane - Azrou - Erfoud - Merzouga

Depart from Fez at 8 am towards Merzouga, passing through the Middle Atlas Mountains and enjoying views of Ifrane and Azrou. Travel through the Ziz Valley and visit villages like Midelt before reaching Merzouga for an overnight stay in a hotel.

Day 2: Enjoying Merzouga Desert

On the second day, explore the Eastern Sahara by 4x4, visiting nomad settlements and the Erg Chebbi dunes. Stop at Khamlia to experience the music of the Gnawa people. In the evening, camel rides will take you to a Berber tent for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Rissani - Ziz Valley - Middle Atlas - Fez

Start the day with a sunrise on the dunes, followed by breakfast and a shower in Merzouga. On the return to Fez, visit Tafilalt and Rissani, with a stop to feed wild monkeys in the Azrou forests. The trip concludes in Fez in the late afternoon.

Transportation is provided in a Toyota Landcruiser with air-conditioning and an English-speaking chauffeur.

Standard category:

First night in Merzouga: Riad Mamouche / Dar Tafouyte.Second night in Merzouga: Amazigh desert camp.

Luxury category:

First night in Merzouga: Riad Nezha / Merzouga Guest House / Dar el Janoub / Riad Madu / Riad Azawad.Second night in Merzouga: Luxury desert camp with private bathroom.

Standard haimas accommodate 4 people, while superior haimas can accommodate 5. Not all camps have wifi; air-conditioning in luxury camps costs an additional 30EUR. During high seasons, shared bathrooms may be necessary for standard category camps.

No single occupancy is allowed in hotels or camps, but triple or family options are available.
