Souks, Koranic schools, colourful gardens... On this guided tour of Fez, we'll discover the main attractions of the cultural capital of Morocco!
Description
At the time of your choice, we'll meet at the main gate of the Lycée Moulay Idriss. From there, we'll start a guided tour of Fez that will take us to discover the monuments hidden in the alleys of the Medina.
We'll begin at the Bab Bou Jeloud, or Blue Gate, the main entrance to the Medina of Fez. Next, we'll explore the Al-Attarine Madrasa, one of the principal Koranic schools. Nearby, we will visit the Bou Inania Madrasa, noted for its stucco walls, wood, and tiles adorned with geometric motifs.
Our walking tour will continue through Talaa Kebira and Talaa Seguira, which feature numerous historical monuments and commercial hotspots. We will visit the Mausoleum of Mulay Idris, an important sacred site in the Medina.
The next stop will be outside the al-Qarawiyyin Mosque, part of one of the largest architectural complexes in Fez, housing the oldest university in the world. We will explore souks and ancient squares before discovering an Andalusian quarter.
Finally, we will visit the oldest tannery in the city: Sidi Moussa, and proceed to Seffarine Square, where the traditional craft of boilermaking is preserved.
After 3 hours, we will conclude our guided tour of Fez at R'cif Square.
