Souks, Koranic schools, colourful gardens... On this guided tour of Fez, we'll discover the main attractions of the cultural capital of Morocco.
Description
At your chosen time, we'll meet at the main gate of the Lycée Moulay Idriss. From there, we'll start a guided tour of Fez exploring the monuments hidden in the Medina. We will begin with the Bab Bou Jeloud, also known as the Blue Gate, the main entrance of the Medina. Next, we’ll visit the Al-Attarine Madrasa, one of the main Koranic schools. Nearby, we’ll explore the Bou Inania Madrasa and its elaborate interior, featuring stucco, wood, and tiles with geometric motifs.
Continuing our tour, we'll walk through Talaa Kebira and Talaa Seguira, key streets known for their historical monuments. We will reach the Mausoleum of Mulay Idris, a sacred site in the Medina. Our next stop is the al-Qarawiyyin Mosque, an architectural complex that houses the oldest university in the world. We will also wander through the Medina, visiting souks and ancient squares, including the Andalusian quarter.
Our final visit will be to the oldest tannery in the city, Sidi Moussa, followed by Seffarine Square, known for its boilermaker craftsmen.
After 3 hours, we will conclude our guided tour of Fez in R'cif Square.
