Markets, Koranic institutions, vibrant gardens... Join us on this guided exploration of Fez, where we will unveil the key landmarks of Morocco's cultural capital!

Description

At your chosen time, we will gather at the primary entrance of the Lycée Moulay Idriss. From that point, we will embark on a guided exploration of Fez, delving into the hidden monuments nestled within the winding streets of the Medina. Welcome to Morocco's center of culture!

The journey begins at Bab Bou Jeloud, also referred to as the Blue Gate, which serves as the principal doorway into the Medina of Fez. Our first stop will be the Al-Attarine Madrasa, an important Koranic institution where students once resided. Nearby, we will visit the Bou Inania Madrasa and explore its magnificent interior adorned with stucco art, woodwork, and tiles featuring geometric designs—an architectural marvel!

Next, our walking tour will take us along Talaa Kebira and Talaa Seguira. These bustling thoroughfares, rich in commerce, hold numerous historical sites just waiting to be discovered. Our route will lead us to the Mausoleum of Mulay Idris, recognized as one of the most revered sites in the Medina. Join us to learn its significance!

We will then pause outside the al-Qarawiyyin Mosque. Here, we'll discuss one of Fez's largest architectural complexes, renowned for being home to the oldest university globally. As we continue our stroll through the Medina, we will search for souks and ancient squares that seem to preserve the essence of time, including a charming Andalusian quarter!

No visit concludes without stopping at the city's oldest tannery: Sidi Moussa. From there, we will proceed to Seffarine Square, where you can witness the craftsmanship of traditional boilermakers, one of the oldest trades in Fez.

After approximately 3 hours, we will wrap up our guided exploration of Fez in R'cif Square.
