Fez Medina Guided Tour

Souks, Koranic schools, colourful gardens... On this guided tour of Fez, we'll discover the main attractions of the cultural capital of Morocco!

Description

At the time of your choice, we'll meet at the main gate of the Lycée Moulay Idriss. From there, we'll start a guided tour of Fez to discover the monuments hidden in the alleys of the Medina.

We'll begin by discussing the Bab Bou Jeloud, or Blue Gate, the main entrance to the Medina. We'll proceed to the Al-Attarine Madrasa, one of the main Koranic schools. Nearby is the Bou Inania Madrasa, which we will visit, known for its stucco walls, wood, and geometric tiles.

Next, we will explore Talaa Kebira and Talaa Seguira, important streets and commercial hotspots with numerous historical monuments. We will visit the Mausoleum of Mulay Idris, one of the most sacred places in the Medina.

We will stop at the entrance of the al-Qarawiyyin Mosque, discussing its status as part of the largest architectural complex in Fez and site of the oldest university in the world. Our tour continues through the Medina, visiting souks and ancient squares, including an Andalusian quarter.

Finally, we will visit the Sidi Moussa, the oldest tannery in the city, followed by Seffarine Square, known for its boilermaker craftsmen.

After 3 hours, we will conclude our guided tour of Fez in R'cif Square.
