On this panoramic sunset tour, we'll visit Fez at the best time of day and explore its main attractions as the sun sets.
Description
At the designated time, we'll meet at the main entrance to the Lycee Moulay Idriss. From there, we'll embark on a panoramic tour of Fez, visiting key sites at dusk.
Our first stop will be the Bab Bou Jeloud Gate, the main access to the Medina of Fez.
We'll then continue the tour to the Medina, disembarking to see its essential attractions, including the Royal Palace of Fez with its notable gates, which is one of the largest and oldest in Morocco.
Next, we'll visit the Mellah, the Jewish quarter of Fez. The name derives from the Arabic word for 'salt', historically significant as it was used as currency. We'll discuss the Jewish community while exploring its narrow streets and former luxurious cloth markets.
The tour continues in the area of Borj Sud, where we will have one of the best views of Fez with the sunset. Then, we will visit the potters' quarter to observe the making of traditional Moroccan pottery and learn about Fez's 10th-century sewage system.
After an hour and a half of touring, we'll conclude back at the Bab Bou Jeloud Gate, the primary entrance to the Medina of Fez.
