Enjoy an unforgettable experience by spending a night in a traditional haima in the desert on this 2-day trip to Merzouga, ending in Marrakech.
Merzouga Desert 2-Day Trip
Day 1: Fez - Ifrane - Azrou - Erfoud - Merzouga
Starting in Fez, we will journey through the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing Ifrane and Azrou. Next, we will traverse Ziz Valley and Ziz Gorges to Erfoud, marking the beginning of our desert adventure to Merzouga. In the evening, we will ride camels to our camp, where a traditional dinner will be served under the stars.
Day 2: Merzouga - Rissani - Alni - Tizi N'Tfrkhin - Ouarzazate - Marrakech
We will rise early to witness the sunrise over Erg Chebbi before returning to a hotel for breakfast and showers. Our journey to Marrakech continues through the palm grove of Tafilalet and the village of Rissani. After crossing the acacia plateaus, we will arrive at Alnif, followed by the Anti Atlas mountain range and Tizi N'tfarkhin. We’ll stop in Klaat M'Gouna for a break and traditional Moroccan lunch. Before reaching Marrakech, we will visit Ouarzazate and the High Atlas Mountains. We expect to arrive in Marrakech around 8:30 pm.
Alternative to Camel Ride On Day 2
There is an option to take a 4x4 to the camp instead of riding camels. This alternative incurs an additional fee of €65, payable on-site.
Camps
The tour offers two camp types: standard with communal showers, and superior with private bathrooms and showers in the haimas. Haimas can accommodate double, triple, or family arrangements.
