The Lord of the Rings Tour

At the appointed time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Te Anau to begin a tour of Middle-earth, created by author J. R. R. Tolkien. Ready to check out the set locations of The Lord of the Rings?

First, we'll approach Lake Te Anau, ideal for marveling at upcoming landscapes. Next, we'll visit the Te Anau Bird Sanctuary to see rare species like the takahe and the kaka.

Following this nature experience, we'll enter the world of The Lord of the Rings, visiting set locations chosen by Peter Jackson's team for the epic saga's most famous scenes. We'll stop at the Dead Marshes viewpoint, where Frodo and Sam were during their journey to Mordor.

We will also visit Rainbow Reach, a cable bridge over the Anduin River, and explore the forest of Fiordland National Park, seen frequently in the Lord of the Rings films.

Next, we'll head to Manapouri, one of the most renowned lakes in New Zealand, which served as the setting for Rivendell. The tour concludes at Mavora Lakes, which featured iconic moments like Boromir's death in The Fellowship of the Ring.

After five hours of sightseeing, we will return you to your hotel in Te Anau.
