Aurland and Lærdal Valley Tour
At the specified time, we'll meet at the Mall of Norway shopping centre. Here, we will board a minibus to explore the charming town of Aurland and Lærdal Valley.
We will start by heading to the viewpoint in Stegastein. On clear days, there is a view of the Aurland fiord, which is one of the most spectacular in the world. Peaks over 1400 metres (4590 feet) tall are also designated as World Heritage Sites in this area.
Afterwards, we'll continue through Aurlandsfjellet, characterized by its fiords and mountains, making various stops for photos before entering Lærdal Valley.
We will arrive in Lærdalsøyri, a small town dating back to the Middle Ages and home to one of the largest markets in Norway. The town features wooden houses from the 18th and 19th centuries.
Next, we will visit the church in Borgund, known as one of the best-preserved wooden churches in Norway. It exemplifies a combination of Viking and Christian architecture. Visitors can explore its history at the visitor center and enjoy snacks or drinks at the café.
We will return to Flåm by passing through the Lærdal tunnel, one of the longest in the world, measuring 24.5 kilometres (15 miles) in length.
Finally, after 5 hours of exploring, we will conclude the tour at the initial meeting point.
