Self-Guided Experience
If you prefer to discover at your own rhythm, consider opting for the independent day trip to Cinque Terre from Florence. This allows you the freedom to explore the captivating villages, perfectly balanced between the land and the sea, in whatever order you choose. You’ll travel by bus to La Spezia or Levanto, leaving you a full day to visit Cinque Terre. You can anticipate charming locales such as Manarola, Riomaggiore, Vernazza, and Monterosso!
Keep in mind that this option excludes train transportation between the villages. You will receive instructions on the pickup point in La Spezia and the time required for your return journey to Florence at the end of the day. The tour concludes at Piazzale Montelungo, adjacent to Santa Maria Novella train station, in the late afternoon.
Guided Tour with Train & Street Food
Choosing this option means a bus will await your arrival in Florence for an exciting Cinque Terre adventure. After a two-hour drive, we’ll reach either La Spezia or Levanto and continue onward to the Cinque Terre.
The initial stop will be Riomaggiore, where you can explore freely before hopping on a train to Manarola, the oldest village in the Cinque Terre, renowned for its fishing and viticultural heritage. Our next train will take us to Monterosso, which we will explore for around two hours, known for having the longest beaches in the area.
From there, we’ll board a boat to Vernazza, another picturesque fishing village encircled by a stunning natural harbor. Here, you’ll have the freedom to enjoy its beautiful surroundings.
The adventure concludes as we take a train from La Spezia or Levanto back to our waiting coach for the return to Florence, capped off with a delightful street food tasting in Monterosso featuring focaccia and sorbet.
Guided Tour with Train & Pisa Visit
Florence to board a bus directly to the Ligurian coast. Upon arrival at La Spezia station, we’ll catch a train to Vernazza, where about 1.5 hours of leisure time awaits for you to meander through its enchanting harbor and explore the charming corners of this vibrant fishing village.
Next, we move on to Monterosso by train, affording you 1.5 to 2 hours to delve into its historical center or lounge on the picturesque beaches. After our visit, we’ll reverse our journey with a train back to La Spezia, heading by bus to Pisa.
Once there, you’ll have time to appreciate the famous Piazza dei Miracoli, where you can capture memorable photos of the iconic Leaning Tower, admire the Baptistery, and soak in the grandeur of the Cathedral. After regrouping, we’ll begin our return trip to Florence.
