Florence Cathedral Guided Tour
At the scheduled time, we'll meet in front of the Museo della Misericordia. From this point, we'll have priority access to the interior of Florence Cathedral, a masterpiece of the Italian Renaissance and protected as a World Heritage Site. Once inside, we'll discover the origin of the cathedral, erected in honour of Santa Maria del Fiore, patron saint of Florence. We'll explore its beginnings as a small church in the 7th century, evolving into one of the largest cathedrals in the world. We will learn about the architectural secrets and the works of art within, including Brunelleschi's dome and the techniques used for its construction. Finally, we'll admire the fresco by Vasari and Zuccaro depicting the Last Judgement, the largest surface decorated with this painting technique.
Misericordia Museum
This activity also includes a ticket for the Misericordia Museum, which you can visit after the Cathedral tour. The museum houses a collection related to Florentine history.
