Florence Cathedral Guided Tour
At the scheduled time, we'll meet in front of the Museo della Misericordia. From this point, we'll have priority access to the interior of the Florence Cathedral, a masterpiece of the Italian Renaissance and designated a World Heritage Site.
Inside, we'll explore the origins of the cathedral, built in honor of Santa Maria del Fiore, and trace its evolution from a small church in the 7th century to one of the largest Cathedrals in the world.
We will examine the architecture and the art within the cathedral, with a special focus on Brunelleschi's dome and the techniques and materials used in its construction.
Lastly, we will view the intricate fresco by Vasari and Zuccaro illustrating the Last Judgement, recognized as the largest decorated surface of this painting style.
