On this day trip, we'll explore the province of Siena, visiting the villages of Monteriggioni, Pienza, and Montepulciano, including two wine tastings.
Tour Details
We’ll meet at the Guadagni Strozzi Sacrati Palazzo bus terminal outside of Florence, then begin our excursion. First stop: Monteriggioni, with 40 minutes for breakfast or exploration before heading to a local winery for the first tasting of Tuscan specialties, including three glasses of wine, olive oil, and fresh bread.
Next, we’ll visit Pienza, known for its Renaissance harmony. You'll have 1 hour and 20 minutes to explore, with highlights including the Corso Rossellino’s palaces and the Santa Maria Assunta Cathedral.
Our next stop is Montepulciano, offering 1 hour and 45 minutes for sightseeing of grand Renaissance buildings and churches. We’ll also visit a local winery to learn about esteemed wines, including Brunello, with a tasting of four wines paired with local delicacies.
We’ll conclude the day by returning to our starting point after an 11.5-hour adventure.
