Architecture, urban legends, and traditions combine on this free tour of Florianópolis. Discover the history of the capital of Santa Catarina!

Tour Details

We'll meet at Rua Felipe Schmidt, 14 to begin the free tour around Florianópolis. The tour will start in the historic center, popularly known as Floripa, where we will explore significant monuments and buildings.

As we walk, we’ll learn about the indigenous tribes that founded Florianópolis in the 17th century, alongside the arrival of Portuguese colonisers and African slaves.

Our first major stop will be at the Cruz e Sousa Palace, the former State Government headquarters, and then we will visit November 15th Square.

We will continue to Largo da Alfândega and proceed to the Public Market. Next, we will view the Nossa Senhora do Rosário dos Homens Pretos Church and the Álvaro de Carvalho Theatre.

Before concluding, we will walk down Hercílio Luz Avenue to Santa Bárbara Fort, both essential to understanding Florianópolis.

After 2 hours, the Florianópolis free tour will end at the Miramar Memorial.
