Defensive walls and historic castles: discover one of the most important medieval architectural sites in Catalonia with this free walking tour of Peratallada, which has been declared a Historical-Artistic Location.

Free Walking Tour of Peratallada

We'll meet in front of the Sant Esteve Church at the scheduled time to start our free walking tour of Peratallada in the Baix Empordà region of Catalonia.

During the tour, we'll walk through the ancient streets of Peratallada, recognized as a historic and artistic heritage site. The medieval centre of Peratallada is well-preserved, providing a nostalgic experience of the nobility and their era.

We will pass the Portal de la Virgen to reach the Torre de las Horas, which features an impressive moat up to 8 metres deep. We will ascend the tower for panoramic views of the town. Following this, we will proceed to the Peratallada Castle, where artifacts predating Roman times were discovered during its restoration in 1969.

Our final stop will be the old Plaza del Mercado Square, known as Plaça de les Voltes, the heart of Peratallada for years. Here, we will immerse ourselves in the vibrant culture and traditions that highlight the village’s uniqueness.

After an hour and a half of exploring Peratallada's main places of interest, we will conclude our tour in Plaça de les Voltes.
