Defensive walls and historic castles: discover one of the most important medieval architectural sites in Catalonia with this free walking tour of Peratallada, which has been declared a Historical-Artistic Location.

Free Walking Tour of Peratallada

We'll meet in front of the Sant Esteve Church at the scheduled time to start our free walking tour of Peratallada, located in the heart of the Baix Empordà region of Catalonia.

During the free tour, we'll walk through the ancient streets of this Catalan town, declared a historic and artistic heritage site, and discover its complex of houses and buildings. The medieval centre of Peratallada is among the best-preserved in Catalonia, with cobblestone streets offering a glimpse into the past.

We will pass along the Portal de la Virgen towards the Torre de las Horas, which features an impressive moat up to 8 metres deep in places. We will ascend to take views of the town before descending and heading towards the Peratallada Castle, where objects dating back to before the Romans were uncovered during restoration in 1969.

Our last stop is the old Plaza del Mercado Square, known as Plaça de les Voltes, the heart of Peratallada for years. We will experience the vibrant culture and traditions that characterize this village.

After an hour and a half of exploring Peratallada's main places of interest, we’ll conclude the tour in Plaça de les Voltes.
