Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge Excursion
At 7:30 am, we will pick you up at your hotel in La Fortuna and start our journey to the Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge.
We will travel for two hours across the San Carlos Plain towards the village of Los Chiles. This area is known for crops such as pineapple and sugar cane.
Upon arrival, we will board a boat for a ride along the banks of the Frío River. This refuge is located on the border between Costa Rica and Nicaragua and is noted for its wetland area.
Caño Negro is a protected area for endangered species, offering the chance to see monkeys, sloths, iguanas, turtles, and caimans. From February to April, many migratory birds visit the area.
After a two-hour boat ride, we will have a typical lunch before returning to La Fortuna. We will drop you off at your hotel by approximately 3:30 pm.
