Celeste River Hiking Trip

We will start with the pick-up at 7:30 am at your hotel and head towards the Tenorio Volcano National Park, whose summit stands at 2600 feet high. The journey from La Fortuna will take one hour and a half.

On the slopes of the volcano, we will encounter the magnificent Celeste River, named for the intense blue color of its waters. Legend has it that when he finished painting the sky, God cleaned his brushes in this river, giving it a special turquoise blue color.

We will trek along a 4-mile route through dense forests until we reach the stunning Celeste Waterfall, an ideal location for photos. Don't forget your camera.

We will continue our journey by visiting the Blue Lagoon, where the river forms a natural lagoon. The regulations of the National Park do not permit bathing, but we can admire the Celeste river from the viewpoint.

At the end of the trail, we will find Los Teñideros, where the river's turquoise color originates, allowing us to understand its unique aspect. We will then follow the river before stopping for lunch. After lunch, we will return to our hotels in La Fortuna around 4:30 pm.
