Excursion to Fortuna River Waterfall

Your adventure kicks off with a convenient pickup from your hotel in La Fortuna at the scheduled time. After a brief five-minute journey, we'll reach the Fortuna River Waterfall Reserve, where a remarkable three-hour hike awaits.

This magnificent reserve sits within a natural area overseen by the Integral Development Association of La Fortuna, which aims to generate funds for benefiting the local community. The tropical forest surrounding the Fortuna River Waterfall is part of the expansive Arenal Volcano National Park, covering an impressive 210 acres.

Upon arrival at the reserve, we'll stop at the viewpoint to capture photos of this serene landscape. Next, we’ll descend along a path comprising around 500 steps leading to the base of the Fortuna River Waterfall. If we’re fortunate, we may encounter indigenous wildlife like toucans, oropendolas, and various butterflies!

At the base of the waterfall, you can marvel at the stunning 230-foot descent and take a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear waters from the nearby Children's Eternal Rainforest. Be sure to pack your swimsuit!

After enjoying the water, we’ll retrace our steps back up, where a satisfying snack of fresh fruit will be waiting for you. Following this delightful break, we’ll wrap up the excursion by returning you to your hotel in La Fortuna.
