Fortuna River Waterfall Excursion

We'll pick you up at your hotel in La Fortuna at the indicated time to begin our excursion. After about a five-minute drive, we'll arrive at the Fortuna River Waterfall Reserve, where we'll embark on a three-hour hike.

This breathtaking reserve is located in a natural area managed by the Integral Development Association of La Fortuna, aimed at raising funds for the local community. The tropical forest surrounding the Fortuna River Waterfall is part of the Arenal Volcano National Park and occupies 210 acres.

Upon arrival at the reserve, we will stop at a viewpoint to take pictures. We will then descend a path consisting of about 500 steps to reach the base of the Fortuna River Waterfall, where opportunities to spot native animals like toucans, oropendolas, and butterflies may arise.

At the waterfall's base, we will admire its dramatic 230-foot drop and can take a refreshing swim in the crystal clear waters from the Children's Eternal Rainforest. Swimsuits are recommended.

After swimming, we will ascend the path to the top, where a snack of fresh fruit will be provided. The excursion will conclude with your return to the hotel in La Fortuna.
