Lake Arenal Kayak Tour

After being picked up from your hotel, you'll embark on a short drive to the Arenal Dam, locally known as "El Tapón", or "The Plug."

We'll arrive at Lake Arenal, the largest artificial lake in Central America. Once we reach the shore, we'll hop into kayaks for an engaging tour of the lake's landscapes. As we paddle, keep an eye out for native birds like herons, kingfishers, cormorants, and anhingas.

During the tour, we'll explore the history of the Arenal Volcano, including its catastrophic eruption in 1968, which significantly affected the region. We'll share interesting stories and facts about the dam, enhancing the experience.

We'll conclude the kayak tour by returning to the lake's shores. Following this, we'll head back to your hotel, completing this 3-hour experience.
