Paddle Surfing on Lake Arenal

On this paddle surfing activity in the Arenal Lagoon, we'll enjoy views of the cloud forests of Monteverde and Arenal Volcano as we paddle through the water.

Tour Highlights

At the selected time, we'll pick you up from your hotel and head to Lake Arenal for a paddle surfboard ride. We will provide instructions on how to maintain your balance on the board, and you can also paddle sitting down if preferred.

We will paddle across the lake, surrounded by a forest, for about 4 kilometres (almost 2.5 miles). Two villages were submerged underwater due to the dam construction.

As we paddle along the shore, we may spot hummingbirds and quetzals. We will also see the Arenal Volcano, which stands at 1670 meters (over a mile high), and the windmill field of Tierras Morenas in the distance.

Finally, we will return to the shore to return the paddle surf equipment and then drop you off at your hotel approximately 2 and a half hours after pickup.
