Paddle Surfing on Lake Arenal

On this paddle surfing activity in the Arenal Lagoon, we'll enjoy views of the misty cloud forests of Monteverde and the Arenal Volcano while paddling.

Tour Highlights

At the selected time, we'll pick you up from your hotel and head to Lake Arenal for a paddle surfboard ride. An instructor will explain how to maintain balance on the board, and you can also paddle while sitting down if preferred.

We will paddle approximately 4 kilometers (almost 2.5 miles) across the lake, surrounded by a lush misty forest. It is notable that two villages were submerged underwater when the dam was built.

During the paddle, we may spot hummingbirds and quetzals, and admire the Arenal Volcano, which stands at 1,670 meters (over a mile high). In the distance, the windmill field of Tierras Morenas can also be seen.

We will return to the shore to return all paddle surf equipment and drop you off at your hotel around two and a half hours after pickup.
