Paddle Surfing on Lake Arenal

On this paddle surfing activity in the Arenal Lagoon, we will enjoy views of the cloud forests of Monteverde and Arenal Volcano while paddling.

Tour Highlights

At the selected time, we will pick you up from your hotel and head to Lake Arenal for a paddle surfboard ride. First, we will explain how to maintain balance on the board, with the option to paddle while sitting down if preferred.

We will paddle across the lake, surrounded by forest, for about 4 kilometres (almost 2.5 miles). Two villages were submerged underwater when the dam was built.

While paddling along the shore, we may see hummingbirds and quetzals, and admire the outline of Arenal Volcano, a 1670-meter-high mountain. In the distance, we will also see the windmill field of Tierras Morenas.

Lastly, we will return to the shore to return the paddle surf equipment before returning to your hotel, drop-off expected 2 and a half hours after pickup.
