Paddle Surfing on Lake Arenal

On this paddle surfing activity in the Arenal Lagoon, we'll enjoy views of the cloud forests of Monteverde and Arenal Volcano as we paddle through the water.

Tour Highlights

At the selected time, we'll pick you up from your hotel and head to Lake Arenal for a ride on a paddle surfboard. We will begin with a balance explanation on the board, and you can also paddle while sitting.

We will paddle across the lake, surrounded by a forest, for about 4 kilometers (almost 2.5 miles). Two villages were submerged when the dam was built.

While paddling, we may see hummingbirds and quetzals and can admire the Arenal Volcano, a 1670-meter-high mountain (over a mile high). In the distance, the windmill field of Tierras Morenas will also be visible.

Lastly, we'll return to shore to return the paddle surf equipment before taking you back to your hotel, with drop-off expected 2.5 hours after pickup.
