Paddle Surfing on Lake Arenal

On this paddle surfing activity in the Arenal Lagoon, we will enjoy views of the cloud forests of Monteverde and Arenal Volcano as we paddle through the water.

Tour Highlights

At the selected time, we'll pick you up from your hotel and proceed to Lake Arenal for a ride on a paddle surfboard. First, we will explain how to maintain balance on the board; however, you can also paddle sitting down if preferred.

We will paddle across the lake, surrounded by a misty forest, for about 4 kilometers (almost 2.5 miles). It is notable that two villages were submerged underwater when the dam was built.

While paddling along the shore, we may spot hummingbirds and quetzals in the area. We will also observe the Arenal Volcano, which is 1670 meters high (over a mile). In the distance, we can see the windmill field of Tierras Morenas.

Finally, we will return to the shore to return the paddle surf equipment before taking you back to your hotel, with drop-off expected two and a half hours after pickup.
