Sloth Watching Park Visit

At the designated time, we'll meet in the outskirts of La Fortuna and prepare to make new furry friends.

We'll enter the park and spend 1.5 to 2 hours exploring a trail to see sloths, one of the country's most typical wildlife species. Observe them hanging from branches, peeking from leaves, or resting on the forest floor. There are two types of sloths in Costa Rica, and you can identify if they are two- or three-toed sloths.

As you wander through the rainforest and observe the animals in their natural habitat, you'll learn that the park is dedicated to adopting orphaned sloths and caring for injured ones.

While you see the animals up close during your sloth trail, remember that sloths are slow creatures, making deliberate movements and spending up to 90 percent of the day motionless. You'll learn more fascinating facts about these animals during your tour, including their surprising swimming abilities!
