Sloth Watching Park Visit

At the designated time, we'll meet in the outskirts of La Fortuna and prepare to make some new furry friends.

We'll head into the park and spend 1.5 to 2 hours exploring a trail to see the sloths. These animals are typical wildlife species in Costa Rica, often found hanging from tree branches or hiding among the leaves. There are two types of sloths in the country, and you can try to identify if they are two- or three-toed sloths.

As you wander through the rainforest, you'll observe the animals in their natural habitat. The park is dedicated to adopting orphaned sloths and caring for those with injuries, providing a perfect environment to observe them.

While on the sloth trail, don't be alarmed if the sloths seem motionless; they are slow creatures that can spend up to 90 percent of the day inactive. You will learn many fascinating facts about these tree-dwellers during your tour, including their surprising swimming abilities.
