Sloth Watching Park Visit

At the designated time, we'll meet on the outskirts of La Fortuna and prepare to meet some new furry friends.

We'll enter the park and spend 1.5 to 2 hours on a trail leading to the sloths, one of the country's typical wildlife species. You'll likely spot sloths hanging from branches or peeking from behind leaves. Costa Rica is home to two types of these animals, so see if you can identify whether they are two- or three-toed sloths!

As we wander through the rainforest, observe the animals in their natural habitat and learn how the park is dedicated to adopting orphaned sloths and caring for those with injuries. This setting offers a great opportunity to visit these adorable species.

During your sloth trail, don't worry if the sloths appear inactive! As their name implies, sloths are slow creatures who make deliberate movements, often spending up to 90 percent of the day motionless. You'll discover many fascinating facts about these tree-dwellers during your tour, including their ability to swim surprisingly well!
