At the scheduled time, we will meet at Rua Mal. Deodoro and start the free tour of Foz de Iguacu. Participants will learn about the history and charm of this city, known for its waterfalls.
The tour will kick off with discussions about notable historical buildings and the history of colonization. The area boasts a rich cultural heritage, home to over 80 ethnicities and situated on a triple border with Brazil.
Participants will walk along Avenida Jorge Schimmelpfeng, visit Avenida Brasil, and the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The tour will also include Bratolomeu Mitre Square, highlighting its connection to the military history of Argentina during the War of the Triple Alliance.
Next, the tour will stop at the Senac Building, the first casino hotel in Foz, and visit Almirante Tamandaré Square, named after one of Foz’s notable figures.
The tour will culminate with a discussion about the Parana River, serving as the natural border between Brazil and Paraguay, followed by a viewpoint stop to enjoy a sunset over the Parana. The tour lasts approximately 2.5 hours.
