Castelli Romani Private Excursion

At 9:30 am, we'll meet at the Frascati train station. From there, we'll travel by car to our first destination, Castel Gandolfo, located 20 minutes away.

Upon arrival, we will conduct a sightseeing tour of the town, which includes viewing the exterior of the Pope's summer residence. Notably, Alexander VII was the first bishop of Rome to vacation at the Papal Palace of Castel Gandolfo. The tour will also discuss Gian Lorenzo Bernini and his role regarding this building.

Next, we will drive along Lake Albano to reach Nemi, one of the smallest villages in the region, where we will take in views of the hills. Then, we will continue to Rocca di Papa to admire its 12th-century castle and learn about its significance during World War II.

Our final stop will be in Frascati, where we will explore the historic center and visit a winery to taste its renowned white wine, accompanied by a typical Italian aperitif. We will explain how the volcanic soils of the area influence local grape cultivation.

The tour will conclude back at the starting point at 12:30 pm.
